RESONANCE
One in a series of interventionist artistic projects that dealt with the cultural and architectural context of Karl-Marx-Allee, Berlin, the installation by Michael Hakimi presented the silhouettes of Persian, African and Arabic drums.
Displaced, the drums referred to an exotic repertory applied to and set in relation with a Stalinistic architecture of Russian formalism, while at the same time occupying the same communicative space of western advertisement.
The project was realised in collaboration with Galerie Karin Günther, Hamburg.
